My New Car Booze... Stillhouse Mint Chip Whiskey

by - 7:14 PM

So if there's one thing you know about me... it's that I'm pretty much always ready for anything at any given moment, as long as my trusty Honda CRV is nearby. I'm that person who does literally live out of my car and I keep it fully stocked with everything I need - because, let's face it, driving in LA sucks and who wants to waste time going home to pick stuff up when adventure calls?

NOT ME. That's for sure.

So what do I currently have in my car? Here's just a small list to give you a good example...

  • Rock climbing gear
  • Bathing suits
  • Beach towels
  • Camping chairs
  • Beer Pong kit
  • A box full of mardi gras beads & light up rings
  • Like 5 to 6 wardrobe changes from hot to cold, casual to fancy
  • Sewing kit
  • Snow chains
  • Flashlights
  • Water
  • Non-perishable snacks
  • A bag full of those "car necessity" things like jumper cables, first aid kit, road flares, that triangle thing that MIGHT have broken at some point because it doesn't seem to make a triangle, but is still reflective.
  • Caviar spoon
  • Duct tape, electrical tape, scotch tape, fashion tape - I really think there's just a box full of tape
  • Umbrellas, two. One that's tiny and purse practical, and one that is long and has duckies all over it. And a duck handle.
  • Many many sunglasses... for everyone who might need one
  • A hand cart dolly for moving heavy things
  • Frisbees
  • Flower leis, just in case someone needs to get lei'd
  • Water gun
  • Cocktail kit...
Shhh!! Don't tell anyone, but yes. I always try to have a cocktail kit in case of emergencies in the trunk of my car. Now if you're thinking to yourself, hey! That's a great idea! Here's a few things to consider.
  1. Get smaller sealed bottles that you could use up in 1 emergency... you don't want to be driving around with "open containers" in your car.
  2. Make sure you're packing drinks that are OK at any temperature. Whiskey tends to work great for this.
  3. Pack a small case of disposable shot glasses or cups in your kit! It'll come in handy when ya'll need to take a knee, take a shot, and yell Tradition!
  4. Throw a bottle of water in there too - just to rinse things off in case you need it. Or act as a chaser.
  5. Bitters make for a great, and easy to keep for long periods of time, mixers.
Hrm. This post went in a very different direction than what I'd originally thought it'd be when I started. But useful information, amiright? Borderline genius?

ANYWAY - to bring it full circle, my newest obsession that I've been carrying around with me are the super adorable Stillhouse 375mL cans which pack perfectly and taste delicious! That mint chip is my favorite and actually works well hot or cold. Tho, cold is still my preference.

What's your favorite road drink?
